Ruqayya Preparatory School participated in the FIRST LEGO League national competition in QATAR on 14/3/2009 which was organized by Abu Bakr Al-Seddiqe Preparatory.
Ruqayya Preparatory ranked second on the overall level of all teams and qualified for the contest of Arab Robot Competition which was organized by the Kingdom of Jordan.
The topic of the competition was about : the weather changes in Qatar , and all students participated at scientific competitions and challenges to give solutions to solve this important global problem. The student contacted and communicated by telephone and fax with Qatar Forecasting Department to gather information that was needed for the problem.
Then they went to the Green Qatar Center in order to identify appropriate solutions to the problem of desertification, and find the solutions adopted by the State of Qatar ,and discuss the solutions that proved to be effective
In addition, they went to the scientific club and got more information on how to use the special robot, but unfortunately the program which was available was very old version, but the result of their journey was to see the benefit of other projects.
