“I’m a Global Citizen!” student competition
School Instructions
The British Council Connecting Classrooms program is launching a competition for students on the theme of Global Citizenship. The main prize is a trip to the UK for a group of 5 students and 1 teacher from the school submitting the winning entry.
Entries
Entries can be in one of two formats:

1. A poster - on A3 sized paper using any materials. Either the original or a digital photo or scan of entries in this format should be submitted.

2. A visual presentation – this can be an MS PowerPoint or Open Office presentation or a slideshow or video. The presentation or slideshow must contain no more than 15 slides or electronic images. The video must be no longer than 3 minutes. Accepted formats for the slideshow or video are MPG, WMV, AVI, MOV, or FLV.

Selecting Winners
This is a 3 step process:
1. Your school selects a winner for each entry type submitted. These winners (up to 4 per school) will receive a Connecting Classrooms goodie bag as a prize.
2. Your school selects the single best entry (any type) to submit for the main prize. This entry should be submitted by you to Rana El Adaoui at British Council Qatar by Thursday 10 December 2009.
3. A judging panel with representatives from the British Council and the Supreme Education Council will review entries from all schools and select Qatar winner. 2 ‘runners up’ will receive an iPod shuffle. The winning entry will win a trip to the UK for 5 students and 1 teacher from their school. Please see below for details of the prize.
